Elephant Birthday. ColorQ #181

This below is the inside.

There were so many challenges this week and I just wanted to play all of them.  This card was inspired by the ColorQ #181 challenge.  You can see other great cards inspired by this great color combo at   ColorQ #181

My Daffodil Delight ink pad and marker is ugly it's like a dirty yellow but the paper is pretty so I wonder if there was a bad batch of ink.  Anyways I ended up using my copic markers Garden yellow y17 and lemon yellow y13.  The Elephant image had  to be separated from the background.  It  just didn't flow right laying right on top .

The stamp set is from Michael's brand Recollections "Elephant Flower".  I adjusted the image a little, omitting the umbrella the elephant was holding. The elephant alone is big enough and keeping the umbrella what have made it harder to fit on the card.  The birthday medallion is from Stampin' Up's Hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes.

Peep Easter Bunnies

Once again I get to play along with The Paper Players Challenge #137.

The colors were pretty much chosen for me since these are the colors of the marshmallow candy.  I had to dress the tag up a bit it just looked to white.  I know it's a bit simple but this is a Clean and Simple challenge.

And Here is a look at the Challenge
and a
link to all the other entries.

Thanks for visiting.

Hoppy Easter with Lili of the Valley

Hello all!  I feel like I've been away for so long but really it's only been 2 weeks.   And Although I haven't posted in those two weeks I have been playing in the craft room.

I never order anything from other countries but someone posted their card on SplitcoastStampers and I immediately feel in love with the stamp.

So today we have a couple of cards using a Lili of the Valley stamp entitled Hoppy Easter.  I just love the image and you should visit their site for other great stamps.  Since I only used a part of the image I wanted to make sure you knew what the whole image was.

I love the honey comb embossing folders and now have four different sizes. I used Cuttlebug's bonus strip for the top in white and the bling bling is little circles of Glimmer paper I punched and glued in. The pink is  Stampin' Up's Argyle Textured Embossing Folder.

Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

OK so now on to the next.  I used the same part of the image here too.

The above was taken with out a flash so you can't really notice the shimmer of the card.

I really wanted the wrapper to look like a real foil wrapper so after coloring the egg I went over it with a Sakura Clear Stardust Gelly Roll pen and for the rest of the card I sprayed on some homemade shimmer mist.  Oh, I should mention the pink paper is shimmer paper.

Well thanks for visiting!

My Favorite Peep!

I love the dollar spot at Michael's and Joann's.  A couple of years ago I bought a peep die from Archiver's.  This year Joann's had some Studio G Easter Stamps and this verse was a perfect match for my Peeps die.

I don't know if I ever mentioned how much I love  Glimmer paper.  Michael's carries it for 2 bucks a sheet.  That green grass use to be silver.  Just throw on some Sharpie or Bic permanent markers on it and Voila a new color.  Although my copics would work as well I don't know how hard the paper would be on the nibs so I refrain from using my copic markers for this task.  I used double sided adhesive for the peep die and covered with glitter.  This was meant for a sketch challenge but I didn't link it in time.  The sketch had the dots on every corner... but I could have done with out them.

Baby Buttons & Bows

I'm feeling guilty about not posting for 2 weeks. It's so easy to fall behind so this is my second post for today.

The paper players challenge is to make a simple baby card with buttons and bows. I don't have any buttons in my craft room. Still I wanted to play along so I created my own buttons from cardstock and punches.  Then  I  threaded the ribbon through the paper button holes.  Colored the image and ribbon with copics.   I layered some silver glimmer paper under the star border punch and added lots of little gems for extra bling.  My only regret is I wish I had gave the background some texture with an embossing folder.

Hope you enjoy the card and all the other entries at PPA133

Stampin' Up EveryBunny & Some Challenges

Hello Out There...
I've been cleaning and trying to organize the craft
room this last week.  I can start with a clean table top
and by the time I'm done with a card there is barely
room on the table to even lay the card down for a pic.

I really wish I had a better system for scraps and
better discipline for using the scraps.

Well today we are playing with the Play Date Cafe and The Friday Mashup.

The Play Date Cafe color challenge is to use  Carnation, Mint and  Juniper color scheme. As soon as I saw the colors I new what stamp I was going to use but the layout... that's always the hard part for me.  I knew I didn't want it to be to plain and The Friday Mashup Challenge is to...
  1. Make a project "using your Markers (thumping,Color Spritzing,Coloring etc.)".
  2. Or Make a project with "Texture".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project with "Texture using your Markers".
so it was perfect for me to use an embossing folder for some dimension.  You can visit the other entries for these challenges at the Play Date Cafe PDCC 169 and The Friday Mashup FM97  Thanks for Stopping by.

Fab Friday 11 Challenge

Hello, today we are playing with the Fab Friday 11 Sketch Challenge.

My colors are Bermuda Bay, Regal Rose and So Saffron.  I really struggled with it because it seems really plain but I don't know what to do to dress it up.  Maybe just coloring the bird would make a difference.  I don't know ... what you have done to dress it up a bit?  The bird is from InkaDinkado and the greeting is an old Stampin' Up SAB set "Love you Bunches".  I do like the stickles outline on the labels frame.  Well stop by Fab Friday to visit the other entries.

Oh and here's the sketch below that I loosely followed.

PDCC166 St. Patty's Lucky to Have

Today we are playing with The Play Date Cafe
and the challenge is ...

to use black and white with a splash of Emerald Green.

And this is what I came up with.

As I look at it now I see it's hard to tell that the layered label is indeed Black.  All the stamped areas are embossed with green tinsel embossing powder.  The embossing did not show up that great on the black card stock but luckily I had some green stickle that matched perfectly. Oh, that pretty scroll might be familiar ...  It's from an old SU SAB set Yummy.  Too bad I didn't have a CAS challenge to pair this up with.  Anyhow hope you like it.

Stampin' Up's Just Buzzin By & Freshly Made Sketches #70

The Sketch....

Another card using my favorite little bees.  They are just so cute. This card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches #70.  I wanted to showcase the two new Honeycomb folders I have. So the large honeycombs is the Stampin' Up embossing folder and the smaller one  is the Quickkutz Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder.
I used a little sparkle on the wings.  I'm quite pleased with the color combo.  I inked up the embossing folder with Midnight Muse for the Bashful Blue piece and Close to Cocoa on the Barely Banana.  Hope you like it.

Sunday Stamps Challenge #32

Hello.  Today I'm Sharing the card I made for the Sunday Stamps Challenge #32.  This round is a sketch challenge.

I used one of my favorite stamp sets from Stampin' Up called Just Buzzin' By.  Surprisingly this was only in the catalog for one year.  I've seen some stamps in the cattie for 5-6 years.
Anyhow, don't know if you can tell but the honeycomb embossing is smaller than the SU one.  This folder is from QuickKutz/Lifestyle Crafts, purchased at Archiver's.  Well I hope you enjoyed the card. Stop by Sunday Stamps Challenge #32 to see the other entries.

DD#36 Red & Black Valentine

Hi, welcome to my entry for the DD 36 red and black Valentines Challenge.  I actually have 2 cards to fit the black and red challenge but I only linked 1 because I don't know what the rules are so I don't want to over post.  My new years resolution was to post more often.  I've actually posted more times this month than I did all of last year.  So I'm going to keep this post short and sweet. Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Royal Challenge #159

I'm really liking these challenges. The hardest thing for me is the layout.  So I really like that It's already decided.  The color scheme was inspired by some K&Company Valentine Designer paper.
I had to reverse the sketch so the words will read right.   The candy machine stamp was a Michael's dollar stamp from last year that I bought for 10 cents and the  "you're sweet" is from SU's Mini Mates. It's very subtle but I also used Hero Arts Envelope Pattern. Can you see it?

Stampin Royal Challenge #159

PPA151 Sketch Challenge

Last time I played along with the sketch challenge the linky was closed so I didn't actually get to post it on the PPA site. On this card I used 2 background stamps.  Wild Hearts by Stampin' Up and Paisley's by Penny Black. The Happy Valentine sentiment is a Michael's dollar stamp that I stamped and circle punched. The love you is from itty bitty banners.  Come back I plan to try the sketch with other colors.

Another PPA challenge card

Ok so I made another card,  I just really like the color combo with Melon Mambo, Black and Gray.
I embossed the gray with a Hobby Lobby Paper Studio's embossing folder.  Although they have several cute ones I find the quality is not the best. But still it serves it's purpose.  Some retired Stampin' up  stamps used here and the Love definition was bought at Hobby Lobby. Hope you like it.

Melon Mambo Basic Black and Gray

PPA's first color challenge for the year is Melon Mambo Basic Black and Gray.  Although I have dabbled in stamping for the last 10 years it's the online social sphere I'm still new to.  Anyhow I thought I'd try to play along for the first time ever.
There have been many cards uploaded on the PPA - Pal Paper Arts site for this challenge but I must say I got my inspiration from  Rita card 13 http://www.inlinkz.com/displayurl.php?id=9629301. Her card is very pretty and simple but it stands out.
So I tried 2 variations of the same card.  I like the white better.

Stampin' Up's Tripple Treat Flower

So I was playing with my triple treat flower stamp and the coordinating punches.  I will admit these were done a couple months ago but I did promise to post more often so here they are.  I'm working on getting out of my simple comfort zone but for now these are just simple and cute.  I had just learned to make my own shimmermist on the day that I made these cards so you can see there's a lot of shimmer. My favorite is is the blue one I just really like the color combo.  You maybe wondering where the little bees came from... they are from an old Stampin Up set named  Button Bear.
Well thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

New Year's Resolution

My New Year's resolution is to post more often.
I was playing with my new Stampin Up folders.  In this card I used the clouds folder and an old stamp found in a big garage sale lot. I water colored the lamb with Baja breeze and Pixie pink and added some shimmer to the mix.  I also sponged the clouds with Baja breeze.

Simplicity to start off the new year.  Happy new year to all of you.
