Stampin' Up! Just Buzzin' By My favorite little bees!

Hello my fellow stampers.  Today I'm sharing a card made from my favorite bees.  Stampin' Up's Just Buzzin' By.   The bees are so adorable, I can't believe they were in the catalog for only a year.

No special technique here... I just masked the stamped images and sponged the background with multiple shades of green and blue. I used my copics to color my images.

I didn't add a sentiment.  The card was completed and a sentiment would look out of place on the card front.  If you have posted cards made from this set leave me a comment.  Id love to see what you made with my favorite set.

Hi stampers.  I recently scored this Stampabilities stamp at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section for a $1.20.  

I immediately thought of my numbers stencil from The Crafter's Companion and thought they would pair nicely.  So I taped my stencil down and went to work.  I did multiple backgrounds in one sitting because it can be paired with lots of sayings.

The inks used are Tim Holtz Distress inks, Picked Raspberries, Peacock Feathers, Dusty Concord and Mowed Lawn.  I love the glimmer paper.  I used my paper trimmer to cut out the rectangle, I just wanted to frame the background and the piece I cut out can be used later rather than it hiding underneath another piece of paper. Regular paper I don't mind so much but glimmer paper at 2 bucks a sheet... Waste not want not. 

 

 Phone Numbers!!!  So the Studio G Phone makes another appearance. I mentioned before it has a hello under the phone but I omitted it.  I felt like "call me" was a better fit. Call me was written with a Versa Mark Pen and embossed.  Hope you liked them.

I'll Laugh at You...

Hello stampers!  Today we are featuring a Memory Box stencil Radio Waves and a phone stamp by Studio G.  I was browsing Joann's stamps online again... And I came across one that reminded me of my best friend so much I just had to buy it.  Laugh at yourself by Creative Vision.

This stencil is a bit tricky because the waves move freely so it's easy for your blending tool to slide underneath the plastic putting ink where you don't want it.  I have some repositionable adhesive spray from my old slice machine.  Spraying a little on the back of the stencil did the trick to keep it in place.  I used masking tape for crisp color lines.

Here's the inside.  I didn't want it to be to plain but multiple colors and taping it off is a little time consuming so I kept the pattern but just used one color.

Stampendous Cat's Pajamas

I love when Joann's runs a free shipping promo.  They have a lot of online only product so there's a much bigger selection to shop.  Pair it up with a 30 or 40 percent discount and you get a great deal.  There are so many great stamping companies online that don't have physical store fronts that I would like to purchase from but I just can't justify spending 7-8 dollars for shipping for a 15-20 dollar stamp set or a really awesome die so I just have to skip them. 

So this stamp is by Stampendous entitled Cat's Pajamas.  This is what happens when you don't have a plan.  I started coloring the cake slices first.  As I evolve as a stamper I try not to have to much white in the background so I was looking for a way to fill it. The image itself is pretty big. So I decided to bring out the color of  the cake and extend it to the background.  I really like the stamp but would not make the same card again.  Till next time have a great day.

Hello Foxy. Imaginisce Twitterpated Dollar Stamp.

I can spend all day in my craft room.  My son could spend all day on his playstation and laptop.

Sometimes I miss him even though we are in the same house.  So occasionally I will break out a folding table and set up a temp craft station in the living room so I can still hang out with my kid.

Today I'm sharing a foxy hello.  It started by me playing with a new "hello" die.  I really love that it has an outline.  The stamp is so adorable and this was my first time stamping it even though it's been in the stash for a couple of years.  The Woodgrain piece started as white cardstock.  I blended some browns onto the cardstock and then stamped the woodgrain image.  Foxy is colored with copics.  I totally forgot I embossed the image first but luckily it was black pigment ink and clear embossing powder.  Normally a copic marker would disintegrate the embossing powder and it would smear it all over the paper.  I don't know if the clear doesn't have same effect or if I can't tell because its clear.  So there we have it a quick cute card.  Have a great day.

Stampin Bella's Flynn's Berry Happy Day

 Hello fellow stampers.  This is a quick post.  I love this stamp by Stampin Bella.   I was rummaging through my pattern paper for a different project when I thought this paper would be perfect to pair with  this really cute stamp.  Well I said it would be quick. Rainy Day Mouse Hero Arts 1988

This little mouse is from 1988.  Wow, I didn't realize how old it was till I looked to see who made this stamp. It's at least 25 years old and the rubber still feels soft and pliable.  
She's so cute.
I picked it up at a garage sale 
for fifty cents if I remember correctly.  

                            

So I was practicing a sponged background and I stamped the mouse a few times.  Colored with copics.  Although you can not see it in the picture I did a very thin coverage of Twinkling H20's over the sky, grass and the flower.  I had thin scraps of the green paper and made use of them as trim on the purple card.  Continued to make use of the scraps making the little flowers with hole punches. The greeting is embossed with Ranger Eggplant it's at least 10 years old. Good thing embossing powder does not expire.
